The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the UGC NET / JRF exam to determine eligibility for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges. For the June 2026 session, candidates must fulfill the following eligibility conditions:
Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed or be appearing in a Master’s Degree in the relevant or concerned subject from a recognized university.

A minimum of 55% marks is required in the Master’s degree for General/EWS category candidates.

Relaxation in marks is applicable for reserved categories as per government norms.
4-Year Bachelor’s Degree Holders

Candidates who have completed a 4-year Bachelor’s Degree (Honours or equivalent) are also eligible to apply.
